Smithgall Woods State Park Haunted Hike (Helen, GA): Nothing is spookier than venturing through the woods at night, which is why Smithgall Woods State Park is the perfect place to be! The park will be holding their annual Haunted Hike on Friday, October 18th and Saturday, October 19th from 5pm to 7:30pm. The hike starts with a hay ride up the park’s Martins Mine trail, where you will be given a haunted history lesson on North Georgia’s Gold Rush. The trail is a moderate 1.7 miles, so if you’re planning on wearing a Halloween costume (which is highly encouraged!), make sure hiking shoes are a part of that costume. Reservations are required. Please call the visitor’s center at 706-878-3087 to make your reservation. $5 per person. This program is Family Friendly, but please notify the clerks of the age of those attending.
